120kw Mine Dewatering Pump
Details
Date: June 2019
Location: Tarago NSW (50km east of Canberra)
This bore pump installation was designed by Dubbo Store Manager and Aquawest Director, James Gibson.
The pump is installed at a depth of 330m, powered by a 1000 volt 120 Kw electrical motor and is assisted or protected by flow controllers, water meter, overload controller, level transducer and temperature sensors on the electrical motor.
This Pump has been sized to deliver a minimum of 20 L/Sec at over 35 Bar or 3500 Kpa.
The installation site for the bore pump was typically limited with overhead powerlines nearby and a slope towards the bore head.
The pump has been installed on Wellmaster Layflat hose to account for the pumping weight of this pump which is over 5.6 tonnes.
Special consideration had to be taken on the power and controller cables whilst installing the pump as the lay flat expanded over 7 meters due to the 330m Pump set.
Installation of the pump was carried out over a week, and Aquawest supplied a Project Manager to liaise with mining superintendents, product managers, employees and contractors.
This particular job due to its complexities had multiple check lists, work method statements and JSA’s to complete the project safely and on time.
